Akrapovič’s system for the 992 GT3 is engineered using ultra-lightweight titanium, developed through extensive motorsport and OEM collaboration. The design improves exhaust gas flow, reduces back pressure, and delivers a significant weight saving over the factory system.

ENSO Automotive carried out the full installation in-house, adhering to OEM-level standards throughout.

Key technical considerations included:

• Correct valve actuator integration with Porsche’s factory exhaust control system
• Precision alignment of exhaust sections and tips
• Heat management and clearance checks within the rear subframe and diffuser area
• Retention of factory refinement while enhancing acoustic output

The result is a flawless OEM-plus fitment, visually understated yet technically purposeful.

Custom ECU Calibration – Developed by Peron Automotive

With revised exhaust flow characteristics, the factory ECU calibration no longer represents the engine’s optimal operating window. To address this, Peron Automotive carried out a full custom dyno tune tailored specifically to the Akrapovič system.

Calibration development focused on:

• Optimised air-fuel ratios under high load
• Refined ignition timing across the rev range
• Improved throttle response and transient behaviour
• Consistent power delivery at sustained high RPM

All tuning was completed within conservative safety margins, ensuring reliability equivalent to factory standards.

Measured Results

• Noticeable reduction in overall exhaust system weight
• Increased power and torque, particularly in the upper rev range
• Sharper throttle response and improved engine urgency
• Enhanced exhaust note with greater clarity, volume, and character at higher RPM

Just as importantly, cold-start behaviour, part-throttle cruising, and everyday drivability remained smooth and controlled.

This Porsche 992 GT3 now delivers a more immersive and focused driving experience, without losing the refinement and integrity that define the platform.

The Akrapovič exhaust unlocks the engine’s natural voice and efficiency, while the bespoke ECU calibration ensures the performance gains are fully realised and seamlessly integrated.
